Job Search in the time of Pandemic: Resilience and Patience

Before I begin, let me make it clear: every death is a tragedy and it is very difficult for an engineer like me to discuss this topic.

“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” ~Joseph P. Kennedy

Two things are the most important for everyone right now: resilience and patience. Things will get better. Stay put and stay strong until then.

Berlin Wall - Germany

It is quite a challenging time for 2020 graduates. Several companies have frozen their hiring, many have fired a whole lot, several have canceled internships, some postponed interviews, few are moving to video/telephonic interviews and some are still figuring out their plan. Home-quarantine, COVID-19 news, social media are already psychologically draining and amidst all this finding a job adds even more complexities.

As someone who is living through it, I want to share what has been helping me out. I hope to inspire...

Český Krumlov: Travel Diary!

Czech Republic has been really good, I visited it twice in one fortnight. The first trip was to Prague, check out that blog here if you haven’t.

Next stop: Krumlov.
IMG_20190621_201521_HDR.jpg

1) Getting there: We rented out two cars for a group of 10, it’s a 7-hour drive from Friedrichshafen, Germany.
Tip: You can refuel your vehicle on your way back in CZ itself, just to save some fuel costs.
The final split-up of costs for travel (car & fuel) came around to be 85 EUR per person.

2) Getting around:
The town is quite small, getting around is best and recommended by foot. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site which has around 300 well preserved medieval buildings having a blend of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architectural styles.

3) Accommodation:
We stayed at Travel Hostel, Krumlov which is quite close to the city centre, it’s very good for the price. A stay for two nights costs 35,50 EUR per person. (You...

Milan: Travel Diary!

Another travel diary, this time to the fashion capital-Milan.
The highlight: I had the best food ever! :D Nothing beats Italy. All hail.

1) List of places: That’s my list of places on google maps, a friend from Milan helped me to make this list, feel free to use and share it with your friends: Pulkit’s List

2) Getting around:
I was there for two days, so I got myself a 48-hour transport pass which costed me 8.25 EUR, it was valid for the whole of Milan and covered every mode of transport: buses, metro & tram. You can get it at any metro station or from the automated ticketing machines, inside a bus or from convenient stores.

3) Accommodation:
I stayed at Hostel Colours which is quite well located, just a stop after Piola (The technical university of Milan), it’s very good for the price. A stay for two nights costed me 45 EUR including breakfast.

4) Pictures:
As always, I clicked a...

Prague: Travel Diary!

It has been a while, but I am back. This time it’s a travel diary.
First things first, if you ever want to explore a new city- the best way I have discovered is to get a transport pass, hop on to that bus, tram or metro. It will be a little confusing at the start: a new language and places. But you will love it.

1) List of places: That’s my list of places on google maps, feel free to use and share it with your friends: Pulkit’s List

2) Getting around:
I was there for two and half days, so I got myself a 72-hour transport pass which costed me 310 CZK (12.4 EUR), it was valid for the whole of Prague and covers everything: buses, metro & tram. I highly recommend it. You can get it at the main station or from the automated ticketing machines or even inside a tram or bus, and if you want to travel hassle free do take Transferwise card with you. It worked everywhere, I didn’t have to carry...

“You” in the making! :D

Worth your time! :)

“So we shall let the reader answer this question for himself: who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed?”

It’s everyone’s dream to cast out a line, tug at the ropes, catch the giant marlin and bring it back to shore safely. Everyone wants to win the proverbial bread, and everyone wants to live happy lives.
You can choose to chase the feeling that causes your pupils to dilate and blood to rush powerfully through your veins, or you can choose to ignore your passions and dull your senses. You can take the road less traveled and live the life you truly desire, or you can choose to be another brick in the wall. The choice is all yours.
Many will fail and simply stop trying, but others will rise up again and face the storm. And, with great risk comes great reward. No risk, no gain!

Noises to (de)clutter!

The Voices

“All I have is a voice.” -W.H. Auden

We all live a noisy life. There’s so much going on that it’s not all surprising to lose our minds. Well… most of us anyway lose it by the end of the day!
The basic difference noise will be a distraction, less or not all resourceful while on the other hand voice has the opposite traits.

It’s pertinent that we learn to clear out and keep out what noises we can.
Because one person’s noise may be a voice for someone else.
Better (de)clutter it as required!

Listing down a few-

The ‘literal’ noise:

Music, TV, Movies or socializing.
Noise will always cause a distraction. Everyone goes through the motions, and such distractions make the mundane more bearable.
It’s about developing a habit of distracting yourself, however, it certainly makes living in the moment difficult even when you want to be in it. Distractions are fine, but never ever...

Revolution:The Thought Process!

5pcs-lot-JUST-WHEN-THE-CATERPILLAR-font-b-THOUGHT-b-font-Vinyl-wall-lettering-sayings-home.jpg

Dawn of a revolution!

The capital of the world’s largest democracy witnessed a revolution on 10th February 2015. It was a time to celebrate , enjoy and cherish the moment. I was really happy that I did take part in the ‘free & fair’ process of elections, the best right which a democracy provides.

It was awaited and the news broke globally like fire. The tally was out by mid-day. The common man had won against the venal administrative mentality, everyone was seriously sick of it! The state of affairs are in a big mess. The Election Commission of India declared ‘[AAP-Aam Aadmi Party](www.aamaadmiparty.org/)’ also referred to as common man’s party winning 67 out of 70 seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party managed to contain only 3 seats. The Congress party which ruled the state for 15 years until being rejected in 2013 did not win a single seat and was shown the...

With this feeling in mind I always plan and sometimes even study! :P

(“Time to study no time to waste, I the great man must gain every second of the day.”) There’s always room for fun! :D Much needed.
Even staring at the wall during this time is interesting :P , listening new music always peps you up.

I always find time to cook for myself a bit though despite the hussle.

From managing massive syllabi to sleepless-endless nights, that feeling when you are forced to rethink your decision to opt for ‘Engineering’ :P and this time comes twice every year, that feeling is really strong, enough to make you feel like hell.

Sharing some Real story! :P
